By your own statement, you sure as hell could have gotten more out, particularly assuming you had 2 grams of gonads and any support to do so. Certainly even most lefty Americans would support that, so, this is a question of Presidential support, although Biden is cowardly stuck on the date he agreed to with the Taliban: It's actually not "Presidential" OR "American" in any way, shape, or form.

Kinda like the Trump plan to get citizens out first in a orderly fashion, then equipment and troops last. Not the other way around and leave all the guns, tech, vehicles, etc. behind.
