The following is a statement from GETTR CEO and former Trump Adviser Jason Miller who was detained for three hours at the airport in Brasilia. Miller had been in Brazil for CPAC Brazil Conference.

Yeah, I’ve been “asked to talk” by Brazilian police several times, if only just for walking along the street. We always “talked” until I made it clear I wasn’t going to bribe them.
Were my “talks” political or over taxes, I guarantee there would have to have been a bribe to resolve it. Here’s how it works in South America when that happens: you pay an attorney a large retainer that you will never get back, but the problem magically goes away.
Not much different from the US, except your retainer here must go the DNC instead of some private attorney — unless that be Perkins Coie.
