They are the new 99 percenters — the vast majority of Americans who are getting serious cases of COVID-19 or dying are unvaccinated.
While COVID-19 cases continue to spike across the US, the overwhelming majority of deaths and hospitalizations from the virus continue to overwhelmingly be among unvaccinated Americans, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Between Jan. 1 and Aug. 30, about 99 percent of hospital admissions were among those who hadn’t been fully inoculated, which is defined by the CDC as two weeks after the second dose of a Pfizer or Moderna shot or two weeks after Johnson & Johnson’s single-dose jab.
As of Aug. 30, a little over 1.6 million Americans were hospitalized with COVID-19 — but only about .65 percent of them, or 10,471 patients, were fully vaccinated, the CDC data show.
The numbers highlight the vaccine’s effectiveness in warding off serious cases of the virus, even as the highly contagious Delta variant continues to spread across the country, and the same pattern presents itself when analyzing COVID-19 deaths.
In the same time period, about 99 percent of the people who lost their lives to COVID-19 were not fully inoculated against the virus, numbers published by the CDC show.
Only 2,437 Americans, or .92 percent of deaths, were a result of breakthrough infections from fully vaccinated patients.

Bullshit. Current inpatient census in AZ is 2,100. We have about 2% of the US population, so figure 100K nationwide. And that's even before correction for bullshit COVID-counting.

My oldest sister is 68 years old and has a lifelong history of Asthma attacks that were bad enough to land her in the hospital. She also had weight issues. Before there were any vaccines available she called us to let us know that she and her husband had both contracted Covid and she was in the hospital. We figured she was a goner for sure but she and her husband both recovered, her in the hospital and him at home.
That's the part they keep skipping over. Even among the highest risk people most who get it survive. So yes, folks with comorbidities should be concerned but not scared out of their wits. They were never this scared, especially on purpose, during all of the previous flu seasons.

Excuse me, NY Post. . .I was sitting at a table last week with about 8 friends. . .NONE had heard about any of the early treatments for COVID. . NOT ONE! Early treatment has been shown to be instrumental in reducing the need for hospitalization and death. BUT NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT IT BECAUSE THE EVIL FAKE NEWS KEEPS THE POPULACE UNINFORMED!! The populace is uninformed, disinformed and misinformed (horse paste, etc) because Emergency Use Authorization can only be issued IF there is no effective and safe treatment. As my Dad would always say to me, “follow the money.”
In general, the data is hammered if not corrupted. There’s no practical way to draw reasonable conclusions.
Who’s Really Being Hospitalized?
The mainstream media is reporting that severe COVID cases are mainly among unvaccinated people. An Associated Press headline from June 29 reads: “Nearly all COVID deaths in US are now among unvaccinated.” Another, from the same date: “Vast majority of ICU patients with COVID-19 are unvaccinated, ABC News survey finds.” Is that what’s really going on? It’s certainly not the case in Israel, the first country to fully vaccinate a majority of its citizens against the virus. Now it has one of the highest daily infection rates and the majority of people catching the virus (77 percent to 83 percent, depending on age) are already vaccinated, according to data collected by the Israeli government.

The 95 percent metric is falsely high because when the data were collected, few were vaccinated and, by necessity, the majority of those hospitalized were unvaccinated. Then breakthrough cases were no longer counted, yet states continued to collect data for another month or two. If breakthrough cases were being ignored, then only unvaccinated cases were counted, falsely creating that 95 percent figure.
I don't think that is true.
In Israel it's certainly not, and Israel is reportedly the
most vaccine observant nation on the planet.
What a crock article. Debunked weeks ago. CDC fudges the numbers. Use Jan 1 as start date, when almost zero were vaccinated. Skews the data. Also, doesn’t count you as vaccinated until 2 weeks (!) after 2nd dose.
CDC is a disinformation organization, and Americans have lost trust in them.
