Twenty years after Queen Elizabeth II requested The Star-Spangled Banner be played outside Buckingham Palace in solidarity with the United States, a day after 9/11, the U.S. anthem played once again in Britain.
The U.S. national anthem was played outside Windsor Castle at the Changing of the Guard ceremony Saturday.
The Queen broke with tradition by requesting the anthem be played by the Guard outside Buckingham Palace, the day after the 9/11 attacks in 2001. After the United States, the United Kingdom lost the most citizens on 9/11, with 67 killed.
America’s representative in the U.K. thanked the monarch for her tribute.
"Today, I was honored to hear the guard play The Star-Spangled Banner once again at Windsor Castle," Ambassador Philip T. Reeker, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim to the U.K. tweeted. "I thank Her Majesty for this special tribute."

The Five Eyes think is arguably true, but if it is the case, it’s only because the USA does the same in reverse.
And Australia had no involvement in America’s election in 2016 beyond our High Commissioner in London contacting the FBI to say he’d been told dirty tricks were happening by an American he’d met in a bar. Maybe he was naive to assume the FBI could be trusted but they are supposed to be your counter-intelligence organisation so if they’ve been corrupted, that’s on the US.
Contacting the FBI was exactly what he was supposed to do when he was told America was being compromised by foreign intelligence. Would you expect an ally to do nothing in such a case.

They fed Papadapolis gossip, and then needed someone to report back that he HAD this knowledge. I think it was deliberate. The 5 eyes creeps assist each other and no longer deserve any “benefit of the doubt” from any thinking person. What was created to protect us all in the cold war has now been fully focused inward.
And it’s tragic, every American I know feels close to Aussie people, Canadians, and British PEOPLE. But honestly, their governments are hostile to the American republic.

Alexander Downer was John Howard’s Foreign Minister for eleven years as the Howard government supported the United States under President George W. Bush as they fought a war against the Taliban, and was only one of two countries to put ground troops into Iraq to support the American lead war there.
