And what is the Biden Demcorat’s solution? Dump $3.5 trillion in new spending on the inflation bonfire.
Profit margin in US Grocery is 10% or less. There is no margin to sell things at a loss and make it up elsewhere.
The costs they are paying to manufacturing, labor and transportation are going way up thanks to stupid US Government policies.
They are not going to magically be able to absorb the costs of this stupidity for voters.
Inflation is too many dollars chasing too few goods.
Feds should be raising interest rates and cutting way back on spending to suck some of the money they been dumped into the system back out. But since that would hurt the Biden Democrats politically, they will not do it.
One of my local stores installed a bunch of self-checkout lanes, then quietly removed them a few years later. Apparently not everything was being rung up.
I worked for Kroger from 1986 to 1994 (allowing for my 4 year Navy contract). I worked as a bagger, cashier, dairy, cashier trainer, assistant customer service manager, customer service manager, booth operator, week-closing booth operator and a closing manager.
Since the plandemic started, I’ve done 95% of my shopping via the app (Clicklist), and just pull up and have the groceries delivered to my car. I always tip the person $5 or so, because they’re doing something *I* don’t want to do anymore.
I’ve had friends who worked there 20+ years and finally said enough is enough. There’s a coming shortage of all kinds of workers - grocery store, teachers, police, and so many others.
Remember THIS IS BIDEN’S FAULT... it’s not the fault of grocery stores that Biden and his commie thugs are bankrupting the country.
AKA a Biden kick back deal everyone pays.
If McDonalds and everyone else paid their employees “a living wage”, how much would prices go up.

PS: Anecdotally The McD's in my neck all pay above $15/hr to start and the menu prices are about the same year over year. Maybe 10% higher. How is that?

Wrong. I have been educated over decades to see that it is all about cheap labor to the right wingers. They don't believe in the free market for labor. Don't hand me that sh!t. They flooded us with LEGAL immigrants to lower prevailing wages and tell us at the same time there should be no min. wage.
