SpaceX is aiming to launch the Inspiration4 mission on Wednesday evening from NASA’s facility in Florida. The mission is the first private crew launched to orbit by Elon Musk’s company, and the first time a crew were all nonprofessional astronauts.
Inspiration4 includes commander Jared Isaacman, pilot Sian Proctor, medical officer Hayley Arceneaux, and mission specialist Chris Sembroski. The multiday trip was paid for by Isaacman for an undisclosed amount, with the main goal of the spaceflight to raise $200 million for St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
SpaceX is reusing a Falcon 9 rocket booster to launch Inspiration4, as it previously launched two missions to orbit and then landed. The company will once again attempt to recover the booster using its droneship in the Atlantic Ocean:
Anyone know if the crew is vaccinated? Would be interesting if they are not.
Thanks for the heads-up. I would have missed it otherwise.
I believe their seats are 7 feet apart...
Well, it's never too late to scrub the launch. If after the launch they are revealed to be not vaccinated I suppose General Milley could have them shot down.
I see no reason for this.
I hope they have a safe ride, I am excited for them!
Wish I could go!
Well, at least they are wearing helmets with face masks …
Godspeed
Looking forward to walking out in my front yard and watching it.
Night time liftoffs are awesome.
One face diaper on the inside of the helmet....one face diaper on the outside of the helmet....we don’t want to take any unnecessary chances.

One of these years I’m going to go to Florida to watch one of these launches.
Very Cool.👍
I am praying for a safe and successful mission. God speed Inspiration 4!
I got to be on top of a building on Patrick AFB to watch a shuttle night launch.
That was wild, as the entire sky lit up.
Unfortunately it was the shuttle that came apart on reentry..
About a 150 miles north of Canaveral but still very viewable.
A few years ago wife and I booked a hotel in cocoa beach. Little did we k ow there was a Delta II rocket space shot scheduled for one night while we were there.
We could see the launch pad from our balcony (probly 5 miles away).
When that sucker took off it shook the whole hotel.
We extended our stay in FL for a night launch of the space shuttle. Drove to the cape and found parking got out and set up for the long wait. T-minus 1 minute and that nighttime launch was scrubbed until the next day. We were in a plane headed back home that day when the launch occurred.
I was hoping to see that night launch. Was in Orlando graduated from boot camp and was heading to my AT school in Millington TN. When the shuttle explosion occurred. Never got to see one up close and personal. You’re one of the lucky ones.
I was watching on SpaceX’s channel on YouTube... right up until the woke astronauts started talking about themsleves. Watching no longer. Wishing then a safe trip.
