Over time, I’m starting to think that Bush was as dumb as the Left made him out to be, just not in the same way they think. The agenda he bought into was not what he ran on in 2000. Maybe not so much “dumb” as “malleable.”
“Compassionate conservatism” was the giveaway.
As if wanting people to be free to achieve their greatest potential isn’t compassionate.
Bush was a puppet... pure and simple. Much like Biden, he had decisions made for him. Whether he agreed with them or not.
Bush is a stupid man, but that sets him apart from very few in DC.
I think it’s as simple as this: He is a neocon who got in over his head and is trying to soften his legacy of failure by sucking up to the leftist historians who write all the history books by attacking Trump and the deplorables.
