Lava flows through the very nice neighborhoods. Lots of houses on fire.
Apparently, it is a vacation community, lots of houses owned by foreigners.
But it id an effluent flow. Lava flowing kind of slow, but burning everything on its way. I do not believe anybody is hurt so far.

I assumed. I did a Google street view, and it looked nice.
How is the economy there?

Although they have been hit with illegal immigrants on the island as a stop over from Africa.

Hope everyone is safe there. Definitely scary.
However, Dr. Evil has a different view.

It’s primary a fishing and tourist economy. My aunt went to live with her daughter there and doesn’t like it because - well, that’s not her thing. She prefers more ‘modern’ living

How can we save mother earth from climate change?
I KNOW! We’ll create and distribute an infectious VIRUS worldwide to get rid of most of the humans.
OH NOSE! ANOTHER volcanic eruption. EVEN MORE CO2 to contend with!
SARC!

That island is very steep-sided, is unstable and in deep water. If a huge landslide collapsed part of the island, the tsunami could inundate the east coast of the USA.
