Dr. Joseph Ladapo, the new Surgeon General and Secretary of the Department of Health for the state of Florida, denounced coronavirus hysteria on Tuesday, alleging it uses fear to rob people of their personal autonomy.

After stepping up to the podium, Ladopo declared that the Sunshine State is “done with fear.”
“We’re done with fear. It’s been something that’s been, unfortunately, a centerpiece of health policy in the United States ever since the beginning of the pandemic, and it’s over here — expiration date is done,” he said.
In the same speech, Ladopo touted the importance of vaccines while acknowledging the many “good pathways” to combatting the coronavirus.
“It’s been treated almost like a religion, and that’s just senseless. There are lots of good pathways to health; vaccination is not the only one,” said Ladapo. “We support measures for good health, vaccination, losing weight, eating more fruits and vegetables.”
“We need to respect human rights,” Ladapo later asserted. “People do have autonomy over their lives. It’s not OK, it’s not virtuous, and it’s not right to just take away those rights from individuals.”

Great appointment. Somebody needed to say these things and really call this “pandemic” response exactly what it is, fear masquerading as medical care. This doctor sounds sane and is probably going to be under relentless attack.
I’m glad DeSantis is challenging not only individual violations of our rights, but the whole concept that somehow a police state and the long-term destruction of society constitutes a reasonable response to a disease.
The media is worse than the virus...the hysteria is off the charts.
DeSantis is my Governor, he’s been at the forefront in dealing with Covid in a way that’s not totally insane...
I hope he keeps going, the one thing I hope he does is start treating the pandemic as endemic to our world, it’s never going away, just like the common cold and flu, Covid will come back over and over again and we need to treat it with any possible solution, nothing is off the table...
We need early treatment with existing therapeutics like Ivermectin, HCQ, etc....vaccinate only the most at risk people and move forward without fear or restrictions...
Authorize the use of Ivermectin in Florida and require hospitals and pharmacies to honor prescriptions.

Hey folks, how about get the shots if you want or don’t get the shots if that’s your preference? And wear a mask or not wear a mask according to YOUR individual choice. But let’s end the closures, the mandates, the restrictions and, above all, the constant repetitive testing of people who are not really sick.
Governor DeSantis HAS THE RIGHT APPROACH. LET’S SIMPLY GET ON WITH LIFE!
Why would he authorize the use of less reliable therapeutics when he is directly dealing with the makers of monoclonals. As he has liberalized this treatment Florida numbers have fallen.
It would prefer that the governor does as he has been doing — being actually guided by the science and rolling out treatments that are better than a craps shot.
I am so glad I live in Free Florida.
And Biden (or whoever is behind the idiot) knows this and that’s why he has restricted Florida’s access to monoclonal antibodies, reducing our supply by half as punishment. DeSantis has gone ahead and found a different manufacturer from whom Florida can but it directly, but Biden should be held up to scorn and protest and possible legal action for his vindictive politics that cost Floridian lives because he sees us as the enemy.
After a year and a half, a government official telling Americans to consider losing weight and getting healthy.

What we have is a pandemic of government. While no doubt the government does some things good, on balance it is a negative force.
It is refreshing to see a few heads pop up now and then with healthy message. I side with that to my end. The others I consider enemies, especially the ones who want to direct me for my own good.
Quackster Fauci, the neo-mengele, 🤮 may he get his punishment sooner rather than later.
Since when has a bureaucrat had a say?
We liked our lives.
