Several years a go my boss broke his foot on his Harley at a friend's house. Couple of days later he asked me if I'd ride it to his house and I said no problemo. When I got to his house on my bike to ride over to get his the whole family was loaded up in his wife's Prius with the driver's seat empty.

I said "Nope, made myself a promise I'd never drive one of these." His wife (a total sweetheart and as conservative as I am) wanted to know why. I said it was a matter of principal but I would drive it on one condition... if I could strap a barrel of crude to the back bumper and set it on fire. She was not amused.

I actually love my Prius. 300,000 miles and going strong. Hardly have to fill the tank, and I use it for Doordashing. Don’t know why it’s picked on. I love mine.
