I have that book by Cornuke. Fascinating read. Jabal al-Lawz seems like a good candidate to me.

From the Bob Cornuke account:

...There, we explored the underwater topography (bathymetry) of the Strait of Tiran, where the Gulf of Aqaba is narrowest, between the Sinai Peninsula and Saudi Arabia. And we discovered an underwater land bridge existing there today that is so problematic for shipping that two separate routes or “lanes” are designated for northbound and southbound ships to pass through. Further correlation of the Bible’s account of the route of the Exodus causes us to realize that this unusual submarine formation may well have been trod by the Hebrews themselves.

radiation test of soil might be interesting. been a long time, but any deviation from surrounding area findings would be of interest.

not that anyone would believe it.

An aside. They wanted to call the state Columbia after the river. “No - that will be too confusing with the District of Columbia!” True story.

Quite interesting and worthy of consideration. Of course, all the criteria for the search were set by Jacobvici but they are reasonable. I cannot understand a 'spring' at the top of a dusty dry mountain; the only explanation might be an artesian well but incredibly unusual. The Gihon Spring at Jerusalem is unusual but understandable... the reason for ancient habitation, along with the steep heights.

The surrounding area of Mt. Hashem el Tarif is very dry and no evidence of vegetation on the mountain - but I suppose we might consider a burning bush a divine manifestation.

Certainly a thoroughly thought out hypothesis; compelling but not conclusive. 🤔

There is at least one other video by another archeologist on You Tube who claims the same view of Mt. Sinai.

Ages ago, in my youth, maybe childhood (?) Reader's Digest had an article about someone searching for Mt Sinai, he came up with a candidate, but alas, I don't know what it was. I think Berosus knows, I'm pretty sure I asked him this before, 15-20 years ago. [blush]

It was Sinn Bishr in the Sinai peninsula, a few miles north of the traditional mountain. I wrote about it here, and included a scan of the Reader’s Digest map: http://xenohistorian.faithweb.com/holybook/articles/Moses.html#MtSinai
