SEATTLE - Already facing a staffing crisis, the Seattle Police Department is bracing for the possibility that hundreds of officers will fail to meet an Oct. 18 vaccination deadline.
As of Oct. 6, 292 sworn personnel had yet to provide proof of a COVID-19 vaccination. That number is down from 354 on Tuesday.
To add another layer of concern, Seattle PD Spokesperson Sgt. Randy Huserik confirmed to FOX 13 News that there are an additional 111 officers awaiting results of exemption requests. Those 111 are not counted in the 292 figure – meaning if their accommodations are denied, the actual number of unvaccinated officers could be as high as 403.

Another patrol officer, who also asked to remain anonymous, said he is still hopeful the city will change course.
"Losing even 50 to 75 officers in one day, the response times for the city will go up drastically," said the officer, who works out of the West Precinct downtown.
The officer put in for a religious exemption but is not hopeful that his accommodation will be approved.
"I will continue working until the day that they fire me and that’s about all that I can do."

All you can do? You can vote for people who will protect your rights, your freedoms and liberty's! You can vote for people who recognize and protect our Constitution. There is a lot you can do. PLEASE DO IT!
Are number of them probably are vaccinated, but decline to show proof. Then when they are fired, they will sue. Or maybe the police union will call a strike. Either way, they have the city at their mercy.
If there’s one thing cops understand, it’s how to apply force.
A lot of them are probably looking for a reason to leave and this might be the reason.
The Department will hire Haitians and other illegals to replace them...problem solved.
Why is not the union protecting these officers by threatening a strike?
This is the most plausible explanation.
Seems most unions have been pretty quiet about this issue.

If you wait until they fire you then they will be prepared. All should quit right now and file suit.
I hope these officers hope their ground. There is a high likelihood that even if they are unlawfully fired they could win back far more in a lawsuit and settlement.
Its an interesting social experiment. I hope serious people are watching how the results unfold over the next decade, because although we will see immediate results in terms of more crime and quality of life, there will also be long term effects on property, economic stagnation, migration, health, etc...
