Sovereign Inupiat For A Living Arctic huh. What a bunch of hypocrites. If they want to live a sovereign subsistance lifestyle, I say go for it, but you gotta walk the walk.
They enjoy their modern accoutrements as much as anybody.I’ve been to some of these remote settlements when I visited Alaska. They subsist on fossil fuels. A lot of them have electricity. They heat their homes with fuel oil. They use gas to power their snowmobiles and boats. They need fossil fuel powered planes to bring them the supplies they need such as fruit and vegetables, firearms, bullets to hunt.
“ Siqiñiq Maupin, director of coalition core member the Sovereign Inupiat for a Living Arctic…”
Yes. He would starve if he had to survive winter by hunting seals with a bone harpoon, after hiking from home hauling his stuff in a walrus-skin kayak, assuming he could actually kill a walrus.
They don’t hunt seal and Walrus with spears and harpoons, either-they use guns-the majority of people with Native ancestry don’t care to be used by the envirowackos because many of them work on that evil pipeline and elsewhere in the industry-the ones on welfare are the screamers-just like anyplace else-make them start working to pay for their own electricity, heat and housing-and the gas for their snow machines and trucks-and they will shut up fast enough...
