Reminds me of how I found out Pope John Paul II had been shot in 1981. I was walking to my apartment building’s laundry room when I heard a TV through a neighbor’s open window: “Pope Shot! Film at 11!” I almost dropped my laundry basket.
They were always doing these little three-second news teasers on TV back then. “_______ Dies! Film at 11!”
