With the lowest COVID-19 infection rate among all states as of Friday, California, which has some of the strictest mask and vaccination mandates in the country, has managed to flip the script as the former U.S. epicenter of the pandemic.
"They've been very much forward-thinking in terms of policies around vaccination requirements and mandates," said epidemiologist Dr. John Brownstein, chief innovation officer at Boston Children's Hospital and an ABC News contributor.
As of Friday evening, California had an infection rate of 61.1 cases per 100,000 over the past week, according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The state was briefly the only to be classified with a "moderate" rate of transmission -- 10 to 49.99 cases per 100,000 over seven days -- before it went back up to "substantial," meaning 50 to 99.99 cases per 100,000 over seven days.

My guess- as per the CDC and zhao biden they stopped counting infected illegals...
Hmmm… I thought that Hawaii had the lowest transmission rate with Florida second.
As soon as saw abc knew was Fake News
Their chart at WorldOMeters doesn’t look so great.
wonder why the cdc refuses to warn us about the dangers of president jotato’s opening the border and spreading a million disease carrying invaders across our country during a so called “global pandemic”...
I don’t recall CA ever being the epicenter — but, I wasn’t reviewing the regional details during the so-called Delta period.
ABC

Barak
Channel
Used to be the nickname
This goes back to what grampa used to say. Figures don’t lie, liars figure.
I don't think anyone recalls that, except ABC for the benefit of this story.
Kinda what I figured.
The counting didn’t start until COVID-19 had gone through California for several months (people there got sick, but few were tested as having the “flu”).
They should be asking this about Florida. After all, Florida also kept schools open and didn’t massacre nursing home residents.
Just like they did during bammy’s regime...they just stopped counting.
Were those manual transmissions?
How did California go from COVID-19 epicenter to lowest statewide transmission rate?
Pretty obvious to anyone with half a brain...the books were cooked !
They also likely stopped mandating testing of people who are vaccinated in certain circumstances. Therefore, you could have tens or hundreds of thousands of fully vaccinated people with Covid but they would never get tested as before for “surveillance” purposes keeping The rate artificially lower than it is
I know New York in Oregon originally had high number of cases, but outside some cities like maybe Los Angeles, I don’t recall it being a “epicenter and “either.
Its all about skewing the numbers
Just read the other day that California had the highest number of known mu cases—the one that evades the vaccines.
