Whitlock: ‘Dads on Duty’ at a Louisiana high school show America needs a MANdate

Men are the vaccine. An injection of masculine, male energy can improve every problem plaguing America. We can flatten the curve overnight.

Southwood High School in Louisiana took the jab earlier this month. After three straight days of on-campus violence and 23 students arrested, a group of 40 fathers injected themselves into the school. The violence stopped the day "Dads on Duty" started walking the hallways and greeting students as they entered the building.

CBS Evening News spotlighted the dads on Friday in a two-minute story. The story spread virally throughout the weekend. Even on masculinity-hostile Twitter, the story was well received. It has 61,000 retweets, 160,000 likes, and more than 10 million views.

The CBS story made no mention of the race of the dads. I respect the decision. In such a short story, it would be difficult to unpack the significance of the race of the fathers. But if you watch the video, the dads appear to be all or at least predominantly black.

I’m a woman; and I’m rather fond of man dates (even though I only enjoy them now with my husband...)

Parents need complete 100% control over government schools

I am a teacher in the public school system and I 100% agree.
And I’d love for this Dads on Duty to come to the county where I teach.
For the record, I teach in a mega conservative area, but the boys do tend to respond positively when the alpha male/silverbacks keep them in line (and the boys raised by single moms are almost 100% feral little jerks.) Too many teachers are female (and most of my coworkers are shrill, Marxist harpies). They have NO presence.

Our local swim team had a female coach who was in college but was not much older than some of the teem boys. The boys started giving her a hard time (boyish innuendo stuff). It was disrespectful to the coach and upsetting to the team.

I was the Pool Board Liaison to the team. They asked me to solve the problem. I said sure. I called Dads not Moms to get the problem solved. It was solved over night.

I don’t know about that. I’ve long been in favor of men being given custody of kids over the mothers in divorce cases. I think men exert a better influence than moms do.

I’m a woman, and although I didn’t write the article, I enthusiastically support the sentiment.

Balance in all things. Male and female. Both are needed.

Having male role models in the school is an excellent idea.

Bets on how soon women are protesting these men being in the school?

Its good you see things clearly and at their most basic. I imagine the marxist harpies around you have ridiculous theories and cliches to attempt to explain the problems they see every day.

Oh Lordy, do they. My bestie is a fellow teacher (she teaches at a different school) and knows that I’m not a fellow traveler. I’ve had to drop reality bombs on her many times, and curiously — she does respond to logic and reasoning.

The ironic thing is — she comes from a deeply racist family, so left wing ideology just makes sense to her. Blacks and hispanics, in her well-meaning but fundamentally dumb way, are no more than dumb children who need to be trained and treated like pets.

“They can’t help it — they don’t know any better! They’re not like us...” is really the mindset and that’s why they need to be reigned in like cattle.

They can’t be held responsible for their actions, OR, expected to behave any differently.

To this day I curse my father for demanding I get a Creative Writing degree (basically an English degree on steroids) rather than go into advertising or get my law degree. Rich dad, full college ride, so his rules.

But, since I can teach, and teach well, I do my best to sabotage the system from the inside and drop critical thinking seeds into their little brains.

Thank you for writing that.

What effects do you believe that good fathers have that are particularly positive?

Parents need to send their daughters and sons to private schools.

I think fathers are more the disciplinarian of the family, which kids need. I also think children respect fathers more & are inclined to want to live up to the standard a father sets. Women are too inclined to want to be a friend to their child these days, rather than a parent. NOT an effective way to parent, from my own experience.

I agree with that, especially in regards to teaching structure and standards.
