He's better when others tell him what lines to say in a make believe environment like a movie set.

I’ll always enjoy his older movies.
They were entertaining.
Conan, Conan 2, Predator, Commando, Running Man, etc…

I was generally a fan of his movies.

I liked his movies in spite of him rather than because of him. When I first saw Conan the Barbarian, I didn't like it. I thought his acting was poor, and I could scarcely understand him because of the heavy German accent. I had read the Lancer paperbacks and was a fan or the Marvel Comics versions. I always imagined Conan with a surly American accent while all the perfumed princes and sorcerers would have cultured British accents. However, the movie was made by John Milius, and was still pretty good. Ah-node sounded German, but he looked like he'd stepped out of a Frazetta cover painting. In time, as Ah-node and his accent became more ubiquitous, I got used to him even in that role.

I think his bad acting was what made his performance in the first Terminator movie so funny. A good actor would have a hard time with a machine-like reading of "I'll be beck", or "f*** you a*****e", but it came natural to Ah-node.
