Citigroup told employees on Thursday that it would require vaccination against Covid-19 as a condition of employment in the United States, making it the first major bank to issue such a mandate.
“It has become crystal clear that Covid-19 will not be going away anytime soon,” Sara Wechter, the company’s head of human resources, wrote in a LinkedIn post describing the new policy.
Ms. Wechter cited two catalysts for the decision. First, because the bank does business with the federal government, it has an obligation to comply with President Biden’s executive order requiring vaccination for people working on government contracts. And mandating vaccinations will also allow the bank to “ensure the health and safety of our colleagues as we return to the office,” she wrote.
Citi will consider requests for medical and religious exemptions and will “will do all we can to help our colleagues comply with this new requirement,” Ms. Wechter wrote.
A Citi spokeswoman declined to comment on the mandate’s details.
Other big banks, including Bank of America and Goldman Sachs, have made vaccination a requirement for employees entering their offices but have stopped short of saying they would fire those who refuse to be vaccinated.

What “executive order” are they referring to here? There is no executive order. So far, there has been nothing more than a proclamation at a press conference.
Not to worry. Soon, big brother will come out with a double plus good vaccine!

There isn’t one as we all know.
It’s a rule being promulgated under OSHA and is yet to be published, much less go through the comment period.

I’ll bet not a single member of the elite Rockefeller clan wears a mask or got the same jab that them and the NWO is pushing onto the rest of us. FJB!!
The only reason I have a Citi credit card is Costco. Hopefully Costco will find a way to break their card carrier agreement or I will move to another credit card for all my purchases.
Why? Apparently the vaccines don’t work. They’re better off just requiring social distancing which seems to be the only thing that has proven successful.
That’s apparently different than the one for guv contractors, which is what Citi is citing here.
OSHA has a more onerous regulatory process and would supposedly apply to all companies employing 100 or more.
The corporate solution to the mandate problem is to just lie.
Declare the mandate, get the publicity and then create fake press releases about how well the process is unfolding.
