NASCAR has been putting it’s thumb on the scales of individual races as well as the season championship since forever.
Certain rough-drivers got away with things another driver would be penalized for. Certain teams might get fined for creative engineering solutions while others lose driver & owner points on top.

“Decades” aired an old episode of “The Love Boat” recently.
The captain’s daughter was dating a young man who was slightly off.
The actress playing the boy’s mother told the captain and his TV daughter Vicki that her son was a little bit “retarded.”
Twice she said the word, and twice “Decades” erased the word “retarded.” You could tell what the actress was saying, but the audio portion of the word “retarded” was bleeped both times.

Nascar is now almost entirely ‘Bubba Wallace this, and Bubba Wallace that” constantly. Even his ‘historic win” was a farce. He only won because of rain cutting the race short. He had been not very Good up till then, the a,, of a sudden he’s out in the lead, and the race ends prematurely. I’m betting it was planned so that they could have their “historic win” during “black pride month”
