Those who hope to find a place that’ll encourage the virtuous masculinity that so often finds itself the target of our mainstream culture have been left with a dwindling set of options.
My family intended to guide my formation as a young man and instill traditional values when they put me in Cub Scouts in the first grade, supporting me all the way until I earned the rank of Eagle Scout in 2018. It worked.
The time I spent in Scouting certainly contributed to my sense of what is required of me as a man; to act on the moral duty I have to our nation, be capable of self-reliance, abide by the virtues that I believe come from a divine origin, and attain the skills that are needed to care and provide for those around me.
Despite the role scouting has had in my life, I’ve found myself coming ever closer to recanting the resounding “yes” I offered to my Scoutmaster when, at the very end of my interview leading up to earning my Eagle Scout, he asked me if I thought I’d one day want to put my sons in what still could then be accurately called the Boy Scouts of America.
I find myself similarly concerned for my younger brother who is currently active in the troop I was once a part of as the organization continuously bends to a culture that has grown increasingly hostile to its original mission.

Not only did the Boy Scouts end their identity as an exclusively male institution when they opened the organization to girls in 2019, they’re also the latest to cave to the nationwide push for critical race theory, or as they and others euphemistically call it, “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.”

I’m waiting to see the design for the CRT merit badge.
My son is an Eagle Scout. He got out just before the implosion. My wife was a leader in BS from den mother to Order of the Arrow.
I went to Lowes today and Cub Scouts were selling nuts at the door.
I told my wife about the nut sales and she replied “that organization is dead to me”.
The Downfall was Robert Gates. The Boy Scouts should have just used “Don’t Ask, Dont Tell” when it cane to the woke agenda. Gates was an idiot that treated kids like they were adults. There are exactly zero adults in Boy Scouts.
I certainly pray that every community form It’s own “Boy Campers’ in such a way the gov. can’t stop them. Young boys need more masculine training, be it Christian or secular, it is needed urgently in America.
When I pay down my mortgage, or start up a new venture with my own sweat, I get equity. Equity is not communist.

You’re referring to the financial definition of equity. I’m referring to the word as it’s used in the term “social equity”. In that regard it’s very much communist. Everyone is the same. And that “sameness” is decided by the woke elite.
I was doing my job in an apartment building, knocked on a door and two guys living together came out into the hall to answer my questions.
They linked their arms around each others' waists, and, along with their give-away voice intonations and body motion, the gaydar I have nowadays would have gone up instantly.
In those days of innocence, hey.....they were just two guys living together.
When I asked each for his occupation, they each stated they were local Boy Scout Troop Leaders.
I had no reaction, because in those days nobody thought along those lines.
My point is......this problem in the Boy Scouts has existed for decades, but parents of the day knew nothing about it as homosexuality was never a subject brought up in genteel/and or/ religious adult circles.....or in the upbringing of their children.
Times have now changed......and the hidden problem in Boy Scouting finally got outed.

I imagine in a lot of troops, CRT will be described as “shot grouping”.
For the most part, The Boy Scouts exist and are ran at the Troop level. The National organization is busy setting 40 yr old law suits.
The National organization was in trouble and needed help fighting the lawsuits for past molestation claims as well as Gay organizations suing to push their agenda onto the BSA.
A lot or corporate CEO’s said, “Well, we’ll help you finincaially if you appoint me to your board of directors.
So the BSA got their money and the new Board of directors started voting to allow the very thing the BSA needed the money to fight.
So the BSA funded the good fight and was killed from within by it’s own board of directors. (Gays in troops, gay leaders, girls in the BSA, CRT merit badge (required for Eagle).
I resigned as scoutmaster last January 1st. I miss the old BSA. It no longer exists :(
As a boy, I never saw it in my years in the Scouts, but I sure did see it in the Church.
Eagle Scout in the 70’s. My sons are all Eagle Scouts. Active for over 50 years, until a few years ago. This is really pissing me off. The way at a national level scouting is fubar, 100%.
Foundations destroyed deliberately, first it was the gat cancer now racist cancer. Lets rename it NO SCOUTS
I suspect the Scoutmasters will put Critical Race Theory in Scout's heads through the back door.

Mighty interest you to know there’s folks who’ve taken ask that was good and right about BSA and begun anew on solid principles.
Also, a Mom fed up with GSA woke-ism started American Heritage Girls, and it’s going great guns.

There’s good folks out there that still believe in the best aspects of scouting and aren’t letting the dream get killed off by progressive corruption.
I was a scout in the 70’s. My son got his Eagle in 2011.
I was a merit badge counselor for about 10 years.
We both left the scouts never to return. I would bet that there are thousands of men like us that have left that organization.
BSA have gone from bad to worse. There was a time when being a Boy Scout was something to be proud of.

Thanks for the information.
I suppose to use the name “Boy Scouts” you have to join the national organization. If that is correct, what sort of relationship is there between a troop and the organization. Sounds like the national organization allows these shall we say nontraditionally run organizations to be “Boy Scout Troops”.
Equity equals ownership. How you distribute it can vary.
Thankfully, my son became an Eagle Scout about 5 or 6 years ago...
