Sports Media Demonize Aaron Rodgers, Nearly Silent on NFL Player Who Killed a Woman

The sports media is filled with story after story attacking Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers over his vaccine reluctance. Meanwhile, they’ve given only perfunctory coverage to Henry Ruggs, who killed a woman during a drunk driving crash.

Rodgers has become a target for insisting he has allergy problems with the various coronavirus vaccines and that he won’t take them for fear of having an adverse reaction. He engaged in a lengthy interview to explain his reasoning, but his explanations did not mollify the sports media.

Meanwhile, former Las Vegas Raiders standout Henry Ruggs was arrested last week for a drunk driving crash in which a 23-year-old woman was killed when her Toyota RAV4 burst into flames after Ruggs slammed his Corvette Stingray into her car. A police report said that Ruggs was more than twice the legal blood alcohol limit and clocked, going over 150 MPH ahead of the crash.

Not only did Rodgers lose his sponsorship deal with a Wisconsin health care provider, but the sports media has spent weeks attacking him over his comments on the vaccine.

The headlines covering the two stories are telling.

The Denver Post called Rodgers “whiny,” multiple stories laughed along with Saturday Night Live as the TV series attacked the quarterback, sports reporting legend Bob Costas accused Rodgers of being “disingenuous,” the Wisconsin State Journal claimed Rodgers “misled us,” the Ringer calls Rodgers a liar. Finally, TV host Michael Strahan blasted Rodgers for invoking the name of Marin Luther King, Jr.

On the other hand, the media coverage for Ruggs’ accident is all just straight reporting, despite that he drove drunk and killed a woman. All the headlines for the Ruggs drunk driving story are straightforward. Almost no story features the journalist’s finger pointing, accusing, or attacking Ruggs for his actions.

One player is black, the other is white. Enough said.

Rush nailed it a long time ago.

The sports media is media. They are all knee jerk liberals.

Absolutely. The Raiders had harsher language for Jon Gruden than Henry Ruggs.

One is white.

One is black.

It's really that simple.

“insisting he has allergy problems with the various coronavirus vaccines”

We’d like to know what he’s talking about, because if he’s talking about polysorbates, they’re in Regeneron, too, and Regeneron didn’t seem to bother him or other people that claim allergies to vaccines, at all

“REGEN-COV (casirivimab and imdevimab solution)...Each 10 mL of solution contains 600 mg of casirivimab, 600 mg of imdevimab, L-histidine (7.4 mg), L-histidine monohydrochloride monohydrate (10.9 mg), polysorbate 80 (10.0 mg), sucrose (800 mg), and Water for Injection, USP. The pH is 6.0.”

from a while back:
“If You Are Allergic to Polyethylene Glycol (PEG) or Polysorbate”
PEG and polysorbate are closely related to each other. PEG is an ingredient in the mRNA vaccines, and polysorbate is an ingredient in the J&J/Janssen vaccine.

(and I think the black NFL player isn’t getting any press because his victims were a young white girl and her labrador retriever)

The poor woman burned to death along with her poor dog. I can’t forget the innocent dog.

I’m embarrassed to say that Ruggs is a former Bama player. Bama fans disown him and believe that he should receive the harshest sentence. There’s absolutely no excuse for his actions.

The irony is that while Ruggs was at Alabama, he dedicated every touchdown to a high school friend who was tragically killed in an auto accident.

Ruggs’ actions are unforgivable.
