Majid Khan, not Major...
Majidkhan associate Uzair Paracha is the son of Saifullah Paracha, who was to be released by the Biden admin. Pakistani Saifullah Paracha was a NY travel agent, involved in plots to smuggle explosives, Chinese chemicals, and nuclear materials into the US. One idea was to smuggle things in by h icing them in textile shipments.

The sad truth is that torture works to get information but has a corrosive effect on the moral distinctions between us and terrorists. In the chaos and urgency after the 9/11 attack, we fumbled a bit but mostly got things right: keep the US military away from torture, while using waterboarding by the CIA to get essential information from the worst of the worst. On the spectrum of torture, it is relatively mild — not even torture, in some calculations.
Bud and Jerry were friends of mine. Two of America’s greatest heroes of the Vietnam war esp. when in captivity and tortured for their resistance to betraying their countries.
Leo was very brave too, as were almost all of the others in the Hanoi Hilton, Cam Loi complexes etc, including the laste Nick Rowe (”Five Years to Freedom”.
I salute them all.
If they need info to stop a terror strike before it can go down, f@#% ‘em with a baseball bat up their a@@, if you have to. Their lives are forfeit under the Geneva convection for failing to wear a uniform or identify themselves as an enemy combatant. Stretch their johnsons on the G-damned rack ‘til they cough up what they know. Then take them out back and shoot them like the rabid dogs that they are. That’s legal and even praiseworthy, although my notions of torture are a bit alarming to myself.
Not that I know of...but I don’t know much about Imran’s family in Pakistan other than it is reportedly well-connected politically. It might be interesting to research since the powers that be here thought him important enough to help him flee the country.
