I think he means he was on pain meds after the shooting. When they took his initial statement.

Working theory:
The prosecutor knows this is a losing case, that Rittenhouse did exactly the right thing. He would not have brought charges, except this is a politically imperative case that he MUST prosecute; failing to attempt will cause maximum rioting. Knowing Kyle did right, he is presenting the most honest “prosecution” which serves to exonerate Rittenhouse and will minimize rioting be showing clearly he did no wrong.
Makes more sense than “staggering incompetence”.
He is clearly not taking notes. He appears to be looking at his phone.
“He’s on video.”
Due to trying to keep my blood pressure below the skull and crossbones marker I haven’t been keeping up with this. But, you’d think the prosecutor would have seen any video and already taken depositions. The prosecutor would have to be an idiot if he wasn’t already stone cold certain of what each answer would be. (My lawyer told me, “I never ask a question that I don’t already know the answer to.”) Yet, the prosecutor did just that? The prosecutor would be an absolute idiot.
Well, that face-palm is on the prosecuter. I would have guessed they were prepared to brazen it through with a poker-face if a witness torpedoed theirself.
When is the prosecution going to start their case?
I always thought the prosecution went first.
Did the prosecution even prepare for this case? How else can explain that time and time again they are surprised by what their own witnesses say? They can’t possibly be this incompetent so I can only assume they are just going through the motions. At this point, the defense may just decide to rest without calling a witness since the prosecution has made their case for them.
It looks like he was surfing Amazon trying to find something on a digital device.
The shield over his eyes he thinks is hiding him from being seen as he is detached into whatever he is doing. I dont think he heard what the witness said right then. All 3 of the comentators took it as a face palm but I dont think the prosecution noticed the lethality of the testimony.
I watched the video. It's as bad as it gets. He's not taking notes.
Using that for reason the stories dont match up. Gotcha.
Depositions are not typical in a criminal trial. They typically must be approved by a judge and are approved only upon a showing by the proponent that a witness is not likely to be available to testify in open court.
That was the defense attorney asking that question on cross examination. The prosecution was hoping the witness would not tell the truth. The prosecution knew the truth, but prosecuted the kid anyway. They were hoping their star witness would lie.
I’ve watched pretty much all of the trial. I’m an attorney. I have never witnessed such a lousy prosecution of a case before. But they went to trial with a burden of proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt with no actual evidence of the crime.
Their hope lied in getting a prejudiced jury to convict in spite of the evidence not in light of the evidence.
Hopefully the judge will pull the plug on this circus by the end of the day tomorrow.
No
His felow socialists gave him the pain meds after he was shot in the arm
But he made stmtsto police after taking the pain meds, after being shot
ABC World News Tonight played the admission. Then the reporter had dead air, like: what did we just do.
I couldn’t believe it. I instinctively hollered: ITS ABOUT TIME. (I holler at my tv)
Yep, during testimony: https://bigmemes.funnyjunk.com/movies/False+kudu_64372a_9088521.mp4
“ Does LEFTY have an arm left on that right side or is it stump or a prosthetic or a hook? Great shot.”
I saw a photo of the wound, and while most of his bicep is gone and the bone showing, I believe surgeons saved his arm.
That makes it malicious prosecution, willing to put someone behind bars for life while hoping that the perceived victim would lie for him. The DA belongs in jail.
Wow! That’s astounding! It’s more extreme than “If it doesn’t fit, you must acquit” !!
