The company will be divided into separate units focused on aviation, health care and energy. GE plans to spin off the health-care unit by early 2023 and the energy unit by early 2024, the company said in a news release....

Probably an attempt to grift more taxpayer subsidies.

What are the odds that someone like Lockheed will buy the aviation piece? I’m guessing that GE will evaporate totally within 5 years.

GE was once a fine company (similar to AT&T which is also horrible now) until they drew a string of very bad management.
Yes, both are holders of huge portions of government business.
Both had lots of patents for valuable inventions. Both now live on connections and not innovation.

I did not know that. Thanks.

I think GE recently did a 8-1 reverse split in order to stay listed.
A once giant has fallen. Bad management, but not as bad as the management we have in government.

Did’nt skippy 0bama have GE toadies on his Industrial Manufacturing task force, or something like that.
GE transformed into fascist grifters
To: Recovering_Democrat
Not gonna do them any good.
Biggest mistake Jsck Welch made was to make Jeff Immelt CEO.
What a disaster that was.

Same thing happened to another once great company, DuPont. Poor management and hedge fund jackals split that one up too and now they are screwing over the pensioners by taking away insurance and dental benefits and eying a 17B pension fund that Corteva “manages”.

GE Aviation will be merged into Raytheon Technologies...
They, Raytheon, owns Pratt - Whitney. That would destroy P&W in the same way that Boeing was destroyed by the McDonnel Douglas management poisoned Boeing.

GE laid me off to send my job to India in 2001, just before 9/11. I was unemployed for six months.
A couple months after I started my new job, I got a call from GE wondering where my source code was. I said, "Hey, your CM system was down and you gave me 1 hour to pack up my stuff before you escorted me out of the building like I was a criminal. My source code was on my computer just like I told my boss during my exit interview." They replied, "Oh, we re-cored that machine long ago." I said, "Too bad for you!" LOL
Have not knowingly bought a thing made by GE since. Absolutely agree that Jeff Immelt was a disaster.
