He probably wanted to testify so he can clear his name. He didnt have to testify, but I think he felt if he didnt people would always wonder what he really felt, until now..and you can see it all over his face he’s a sweet kid, he had to defend himself
The DA is despirate, he has no case, and has viociously attacked witnesses for the defense. They will tear into this kid like nobody’s business.
It’s obvious that the same decision to help out fellow citizens which led him to this fateful event is the same decision behind his choice to tell the world his side of the story.
