"In this case, Rittenhouse can argue that even if he provoked others to attack him by openly carrying his semi-automatic rifle at a mob scene"
Provoking? What crap, seeing a weapon should deescalate things unless you are too stupid to realize you can be shot.

I literally watched that sh!t unfold via live stream. I’m glad I didn’t go as a medic; I could have wound up like this poor kid.
The Left is so utterly dishonest that even lifetime Progessives are going, “Hold on, wait... What?”

The dim-witted prosecutor’s stories don’t add up. Jury deliberation ought to last about 90 seconds.

“In the case of Kyle Rittenhouse...his outrageously poor judgment in bringing a semi-automatic rifle to a protest.”
Really? Seems to me he was quite prudent given that one of his assailants was armed with a loaded pistol and had the intent to use it to kill someone.

Poor judgement, should have brought a bigger gun.

Still calling a riot a “protest” - if it were a protest that would not have involved arson, vandalism, assault, etc. Protesters did not cause the incident - people threatening and attacking Rittenhouse did.

The new left that crawled out from under a rock in the late 1960’s saw politics as everything.
They’ve had free reign to protest, riot, silence, and harass their political enemies. They control the government bureaucracies, media, and have large woke corporations funding their nonprofit stupidity.
I hope Rittenhouse and Proud Boy types continue to exercise their 1st & 2nd Amendment rights under the US Constitution.

From the bit posted here I can safely assert the author knows nothing of the law regarding a claim of self defense. Wisconsin’s or generally.

Apparently, it never occurred to him that in a country that has experienced mass shootings on a regular basis, on a night when there was chaos in the streets, someone might mistake him for an active shooter and try to stop him.
How would someone mistake him for an active shooter, unless shots have been fired? And at that point either:
A, he started shooting randomly and he doesn't care because he is an active shooter,
or B, someone else started shooting, and at that point it seems like a good idea to have a good firearm to protect oneself.

... a narrow view of the law of self-defense could provide an acquittal despite the big picture — his outrageously poor judgment in bringing a semi-automatic rifle to a protest. Shove that Prog propaganda up your fat leftist keister, Babs!

Kyle Rittenhouse was in danger for his life and that is why he was carrying this rifle and thank God he was carrying this rifle.
If he had not carried this rifle he would have been history and never remembered again.

” his outrageously poor judgment in bringing a semi-automatic rifle to a protest.”
Relies on ESP.
Rittenhouse had no prior knowledge that the events of the night prior would continue for another night. The primary concern early in the evening was for looting of destroyed properties, not more rioting.

Everyone chasing Rittenhouse was committing felony assault. People died during the commission of that felony. They should have been charged with felony murder.
They will not be charged because most big city prosecutors approved of the riots.
