Trump says Michigan 'needs a new legislature,' endorses Republican challengers

Former President Donald Trump, while endorsing a handful of Michigan politicians on Monday, said the state “needs a new legislature.”

Trump released statements Monday endorsing three Republicans for office in 2022, Mike Detmer and John Gibbs -- who are both challenging other Republicans -- as well as Rachelle Smit, a small-town clerk in Allegan County.

In his endorsement of Smit, who is the current township clerk for Martin, in southwest Michigan, Trump said “Michigan needs a new legislature. The cowards there now are too spineless to investigate Election Fraud."

Smit plans to run for the Michigan House of Representatives in next year’s election. He said she’s “a twice-elected clerk who knows our Elections are not secure, and that there was rampant Voter Fraud” in last year’s presidential election.

Trump also called Sen. Ed McBroom a “loser” in his endorsement of Mike Detmer, who is expected to state Sen. Lana Theis, who he called McBroom’s “deputy for his trash report.”

Theis is the vice chairwoman of the Senate Oversight Committee, which found no evidence of widespread fraud in last year’s election.

“Lana Theis refuses to support a Forensic Audit and refuses to admit there was pervasive Voter Fraud in the 2020 Election,” Trump said in his statement. “Think of it, nothing was found wrong in Detroit, one of the most corrupt cities in the U.S., whose elections over the years have been a joke.”

“Mike Detmer, who is expected to state Sen. Lana Theis”

There is a word or two missing there. I presume it’s challenge or run against.

They are not spineless. They are complicit.

Voting them out is just the beginning. They will not be allowed to retire into the sunset and everything forgotten.

They are going to pay for their treachery.

The Michigan Republicans were part of the Michigan Steal.

They threw the Kent County Republican stronghold to Biden, and also the ring of Republican-controlled counties around Grand Traverse County "turned out" big for the Joek [Antrim County was one of those - that's why there was "a problem" with their numbers. Someone screwed up during The Steal of those counties.].

The evidence is that the Democrat-controlled county of Muskegon [with a large black population] sat on its hands when it came to voting for The Joek and The Ho. Trump nearly won Muskegon County [Brandon - 45,643 / President Trump - 45,133] - which I believe is a true reflection of the REAL turnout in Michigan.

The Dems and their Assistant Democrat Pubbie pals didn't tamper with Muskegon's votes because they had the Trump problem "handled" elsewhere.

Gibbs who is running against Meijer has never lived in the district. He lives 50 miles away. The other Republican challenger, Tom Norton, called Gibbs a carpetbagger and has challenged him to a debate.
It’s not so much a Trump move, it is a power play for control by the MI GOP Vice Chair.
The grassroots in the 3rd are furious.
