Rep. Jackie Speier (D-Calif.) announced on Tuesday that she will not run for reelection in 2022, becoming the latest House Democrat to bow out of Congress ahead of what is expected to be a difficult election year for the party.
"Today, I'm announcing that I will not be a candidate for reelection to Congress in 2022," Speier said in a video announcing her decision.
"It's time for me to come home," she added. "Time for me to be more than a weekend wife, mother and friend."

Doubt it. You’ll get Assistant Democrats like Rubio to take their places. Mitch McConnell delivered that $1.2T Democrat Slush Fund, after all. Without him and the rest of the ADs, it doesn’t pass in the Senate. Manchin didn’t even vote for it.
You and I probably do. RINOs and Trans-Republicans in Congress are stuck on stupid. They have no idea what to do with the leverage they have right now. There is zero mandate from the American people on anything Democrats want to jam down our throats. Sadly, a lot of the GOP has no idea what to do.
I’m sure they will find a way to redistrict out a remaining republican. Speier will be replaced by someone younger and probably worse.
He was a god among ALL Northern California Democrats including Ryan and Speier.
The only thing he didn't do well was train his "security detail" to shoot.
The Media was notoriously silent about his standing after Jonestown.
Note, I knew Ryan personally and I refused to work with him before he brought Speier on board.
As a side note, Jim Jones was a left-wing, democrat loon who supported and contributed heavily to all things democrat.
