Shut down every liberal arts school and public school ... teach reading, writing and arithmetic, flavored with history ....

Genesis ... Go back to the beginning.

There's too much fun factor in what should be educational institutions.

In life, there are more chutes than ladders.

So very sad and I grieve for her family. As a Mom of a teen and young adults, I know it takes one stupid, immature act to cause an issue or a tragedy.

Very sad this happened to her. I am not of the view that she did this on her own. I’ve been in some buildings the garbage shutes are more than waist high.

From the article:

Police in State College have said Gross’ death appears to be accidental, but her mother isn’t entirely convinced, NJ.com reported.

The teen sent a Snapchat message just moments before her fateful plunge telling a friend, “Something just happened” late Nov. 10. Francoise Gross said she traveled to Penn State to meet with cops, who showed her video of her daughter’s final moments.

The footage shows Justine leaving her 10th-floor apartment and walking to meet the man on the seventh floor, where she later leaves while walking unsteadily. She never returned to her apartment — and instead ran into the 11th-floor trash chute room by herself and disappeared, NJ.com reported.

“That’s just not Justine,” her mom said. “She would never do something like that, go down a chute.

“They want me to believe she walked into that chute. I believe someone was chasing her, and she went into the chute, thinking it was a staircase.”

“I will bury her,” Francoise Gross told NJ.com. “But I want to know what happened to her.”

Francoise said cops have questioned the man twice but that “he’s not talking” after hiring a lawyer, according to the report.

State College police didn’t return phone calls Thursday, NJ.com reported. A Penn State spokeswoman said Justine’s death occurred off-campus and that it would be “inappropriate” for the university to interfere with the investigation.

She was 19. At a certain point, parents are supposed to step back and let the adult-child start taking control of their own lives.
It’s still a gamble for all concerned.
My sympathies also for the trash collector who just happened to find a dead body lying in the usual trash, rubbish and debris.
That has to be devastating.

plunging from the chute into a dumpster where she lived

She lived in a dumpster? Do writers need even third-grade-level English grammar before being hired?

The shattered mom said

How about not using the word “shattered” to describe anyone in this article?

Tragic and very sad. Blessings for her family & friends while hoping that she was a believer. God Bless them all!

That being said, and NOT wanting to diminish her, BUT remember that there are many LEFT politicos, Nancy Pelosi included, that want the voting age lowered to 16, 3 years younger than this person. I was a high school sophomore at that age and I saw my classmates doing stupid, crazy and UNTHINKING stuff at that age. Let us remember Ms Justine Gross when you next hear that advocacy.

There is NO universal ‘age of reason’, that is a given. Some people are adults in reasoning at young ages but they are a small minority. Most need age and experience to get the perspective that usually defines adulthood. Me, speaking personally, took till about 25 to feel comfortable in those shoes!

It takes some work to get yourself into a garbage chute. There has to be more to this story.

“He said, kind of casually, ‘She came down and I gave her a smoke,’” Francoise said. “He said she had a really bad reaction, a panic or whatever, and he was trying to take her back to her apartment on the 10th floor.”

Yeah right.

A male student died at the The College of NJ in 2006. His blood was found in the dorm’s trash compactor and his body in a landfill.

A mentally ill man confessed to killing him but there was not enough evidence to charge him.
