Can a sitting Resident be sued, I thought the man and office were immune from these sorts of suits
I think Trump argued that but suits against him progressed anyway.
Biden wasn’t in office when he slandered Ritenhouse. His azz is fair game.
In the United States’ history, four sitting presidents have been subject to suits for private actions. Suits against Presidents Theodore Roosevelt and Harry Truman were dismissed and one involving President John F. Kennedy was settled. The fourth, Paula Jones’ lawsuit against President Bill Clinton, formed the basis of the 1997 Supreme Court of the United States case, Clinton v. Jones. In that case, the Supreme Court distinguished between “official” and “unofficial” conduct and ruled that a sitting president may be sued for the latter, but not the former. (from lawshelf.com)
Paula Jones sued Bill Clinton when he was president and WJC lied under oath and was impeached.
Biden made his comments when he was still a CANDIDATE for the office-—
He was a citizen who mouthed off....& stirred up more trouble.
Presidential immunity DOES NOT apply.
