Well, we have 8 reps, and we also had 8 reps at the time, and 4 were GOP at the time. Bartlett, Morella, Gilchrest and one other, maybe Ehrlich.
I know I did. Floridian since last Monday.
“I know I did. Floridian since last Monday.”
OUTSTANDING!!! Congratulations and welcome to America!
Having acted on my own advice and moved from a blue city in blue Virginia to one of the reddest counties in Utah, it is sooooo nice, isn’t it?
A thread full of people complaining how unfair Maryland is to Republican voters. Are Texas, Georgia, Missouri, North Carolina, Florida, et.al. unfair to Democrat voters?
Maryland is predominantly a blue state. They are taking one of the only red areas and redrawing the lines to turn it blue. It’s a small state. Before redrawing the lines, my small area which is suburban/rural and conservative was drawn with Baltimore CITY. They are far away from each other and not even close to connecting. The doofus in the city could have cared less about us. They are doing that bs again.
I have no idea what type of lines are drawn up in the states you listed. They may gerrymander, but my assumptions are not based on facts. So, I can’t comment on Florida, Texas, snd Georgia.
Yes, it’s very nice. My representative for the time being is Matt Gaetz. What a pleasant surprise.

I would certainly hope so. Most Dumbocrat politicians are commies nowadays, so I’m fine fighting fire with fire.
And?

I can tell you that in my own state of Missouri the legislature is looking at redrawing the districts to eliminate one of the two Democrat congressmen in the state. I highly doubt that the Republican congressman, whoever he is, would care at all about his eastern Kansas City constituents.
What is the ratio of R and D representatives in Missouri?
In Maryland there is only 1 Republican House Member to the 8 D’s. So gerrymandering makes every bit of difference. It sounds like you may be a democrat, which would explain why you’re sounding defensive about the situation.
Currently six Republicans and two Democrats. If the redistricting goes through it'll be seven and one.
If the gerrymandering takes place there will be 9 Democrats and 0 Republicans In Maryland
And your point is?
Wow. You’re on the wrong page. Somewhere out there Democrat underground is missing a member
You want some cheese to go with your whine?
Here is the proposed new map from the redistricting commission:
The Republicans are doing their best to gerrymander every Democrat they can out of office in their state. Fortunately they do a better job of it than Democrats do.
Much better than the old map.
