Have at it. Women could serve in non-combat roles in the military. They do now. Look at the number of women in the Pentagon, hospitals, intelligence, supply, mechanics, and a whole slew of other departments where they don’t carry a weapon.

Pretty much SOP here on FR …. I usually ignore, but this is a lifesitenews post…. They work to preserve the family!
As much as I’m opposed to drafting women I don’t think the majority of young woman would oppose this.....especially those who want equality across the board these days.
Might be time the US needs to look at all young people serving a certain time in the military......like Israel does.
I have no problem with women being eligible for the draft as that net will catch all of the Karen’s in ‘womens studdies’ programs. The real problem is that Democrats aren’t mentally consistent and are in fact child minds trapped in adult bodies. I read an article over at DailyWire proving as much, “Protests Erupt Around U.S. In Response To Rittenhouse Verdict; Some Turn Violent”, so give that a look. Every temper tantrum and poor decision is clearly explained when you view the left as such. And as long as the 50 Dims and the tie-breaker DIM VP march in lockstep there isn’t anything that can (legally) be done to stop them anyway. Women will learn the hard way, just as they are with men playing ladies in sports...you have to be careful what you wish for because you just might get it.

I don’t have a problem with this. With the constant howling for “equity” and “fairness,” well… now’s the time to come off the bench, step up and experience that “fairness.”

Raising children isn’t such a high priority for the modern empowered woman that it obviously exempts the whole sex like in decades past.
The likely answer is, if you don’t want to enter military service, many women will choose to get pregnant. 4-6 girls in my bootcanp div were sent home during p-days for pregnancy. Of the 90 women in my department on the ship, 10-11 got pregnant between my 1st and 2nd deployment (9 month time span with a 1 week and 1 month build up underway, and a 1 month engineering testing). In my 1.5 year a-school, if they didn’t flunk out of nuke school or not make it because they couldn’t pass the pfa (physical fitness assessment), many got out bc of pregnancy. I was one of the few straight women who made it to the fleet.
Even when not serving in combat roles, women carry guns in the military. We stand watch, serve as MAs (master at arms), and are divers..... Just to name a few. Some women flourish in the military, others like me struggled with the health effects of shift work, 3 hrs of sleep a day, minimal and poor healthcare, and compounding chronic injury/health issues.
I was a rarity in my day. I was a college athlete who was massively strong (I’d race the boys opening main steam and knocker valves and once carried a water fountain out of the plant because the tubby male was too weak to carry the other end). Most of the women I worked with couldn’t meet the physical requirements necessary to be in the navy (heavy lifting). Most of the men could (although not all).
I say this only to be honest. Very few women serve, even fewer are able to be nukes. I’ve done what the boys have done and seen what the other girls could and could not do. In all likelihood, this will be a disaster. Most ladies really don’t comprehend the physical differences between men and women. It isn’t just the heavy lifting and strength- it’s the doing it for 10-15 hrs a day, the bending and the crawling, being sick and working, being on your period and working, the joint pain, the backbending lifting.... Etc. All the things the male body is able to do and was designed to do that even those of us women in great physical shape are unable to do.
And I’m not being anti-woman, I’m just pro-reality.
Why not just do away with conscription altogether? Is it really practical anymore?
Conservatives oppose government mandates, which includes the ultimate mandate, conscription. People should serve their country in uniform because they want to, not because they have to.
I once had a conversation about this with a Chinese person and told her that in a free society there would always be patriots willing to fight and die for their nation. She said that wouldn’t be true in China. We’re not China.
As a former submarine sailor I would not want to serve with anyone who didn’t want to be there.
