Europe descended into a second night of violent carnage on Saturday amid the return of strict lockdown rules aimed at curbing rising rates of Covid infection.
Thousands of people took to Amsterdam's central Dam Square and the Hague on Saturday, a day after the 'orgy of violence' during the Rotterdam riots that saw seven people injured. Police said seven arrests were made on Sunday after youths set streets ablaze and shot fireworks at officers.
Video footage from the Hague showed motorists sounding their horns in support as a trio of small explosions could be clearly seen on the main road in the background. Elsewhere, protestors were pictured ripping down street signs in chaotic scenes.

Maybe it’s finally happening. Actually, it’s been happening. Thousands of people have been protesting (peacefully) in these countries for weeks now, and it’s had no effect. Their governments don’t even respond.
Unfortunately, it looks like the only thing governments listen to is violence, and even then, their response is probably only going to be more repression.
Take away people’s livelihoods, families, and practically the air that they breathe, and they’re going to get angry. But that doesn’t bother the ruling class because they know they have all the power.

People take for granted that hospital resources will always be there when they need them, until they aren’t. If a person chooses to be unvaccinated, they should also choose not to be in large crowds of strangers.

A group of 10 with a background infection rate of 5% has a risk of 40% that at least one person in the group is infected. The more people in the group, the more risk.
Unprotected people who choose to remain unprotected should be smart enough to know how to reduce their risk. Or darwin rules apply.

In Europe, they have socialized medicine - they’re used to long waits for medical attention. Most of Europe is highly vaxxed, aren’t they.

I think those out in the streets are the scared ones - misdirecting their fear or taking advantage of the opportunity to cause chaos. Just like you’re afraid or you won’t be attacking those that simply advocate safety first.
I learned early how to mitigate risk, thanks to the youth insisting seniors isolate themselves, forgo medical procedures and family visits for over a year, and even now giving us a hard time about being in public, calling us ‘superspreaders’ and other nasty names as if the youth have no part whatsoever in disease spread, innocent little babes in the woods - not. Do you think the seniors who have been locked down aren’t up to here with the temper tantrum children who are intentionally prolonging the pandemic and the lockdowns?
Do you think what happened in Brazil and India and Bangladesh and Indonesia and Mexico and Peru and China, all with younger median ages than eastern europeans, can’t happen in the EU just because it’s Europe? Something magical about eastern europe all of a sudden?
