Next year, General Mills will raise prices on hundreds of products.
The inflation rate for consumers reached 6.2% in the United States during the month of October, and food companies such as General Mills are passing their higher input costs on to consumers.
General Mills (GIS) notified retail customers that it’s raising prices in mid-January on hundreds of items across dozens of brands. They include Annie’s, Progresso, Yoplait, Fruit Roll-Ups, Betty Crocker, Pillsbury, Cheerios, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Lucky Charm’s, Wheaties, Reese’s Puffs, Trix and more, according to letters General Mills sent to at least one major regional wholesale supplier last week.
For some items, prices will go up by around 20% beginning next year.
The wholesaler shared General Mills’ letters with CNN Business on the condition of anonymity to protect the company’s relationship with its suppliers. A leader at the company said it plans to push along all of the increases to its grocery and convenience store customers. He expects they will then pass them down to shoppers.

Build back better baby
Well, I would pay more for a box of Sir Grapefellow.
It’s okay, it’s only transitory...
I’m so glad my kids are all grown up
I can’t imagine feeding my son at these prices
Gardening is making a huge comeback in the US. Millenials and Gen Z are really digging it up.
Our local feedmill sells gardening seeds and such and they sold out last year.
The local greenhouse operation sells tomatoes, pepper plants etc and they have a sign out front to reserve your plants now while you can.
This is what makes America unique. We have single family homes with land in back to grow gardens. Europe/China cannot do this-they all live in apartment complexes or duplexes.
Lots of folks will have to switch to the cheaper, store-brand cereals. But those cereals are usually produced by the big boys. So prices will go up on the store-brand cereals too.
Build Back Better Badly
I’m glad I don’t eat much
One of those frozen meal bowls lasts me 2 days
Oatmeal is still cheap. And you have to add the pound and a half of sugar yourself.
I imagine Kellog’s will follow if they ever get past the strike.
the price of Cheerios and Wheaties is ridiculous....switch now to store brand....Fred Meyer has a nice toasted oats for half the cost.
My garden is about the size of my house. 1400 sq/ft
But weeds took it over when I had a couple strokes
Still got 40 lbs of red taters and a few peppers, but a lot of work wasted
Just hope I can get out there next year. Downsized
Waste Management just raised my annual charge from $400 to $550
........................................................
Waste Management went green several years ago and immediately started jacking up their fees, I dropped them and now pay $55 every 3 months for once a week unlimited curbside garbage pickup. They even pick up leaf bags. The only thing they can’t take is tires.
I do understand that in some areas you don’t have a choice.
I don’t blame General Mills - I blame Biden.
I’m thankful General Mills is struggling successfully to keep the country fed... they wouldn’t have to do this if it weren’t for Biden and his stupid commie advisors.
I guess their current trick of putting more empty space in their boxes isn’t working well enough.
Fine with me...I don’t buy any of that crap.
