Don't believe their methods work? Look at how successful their methods at turning the Average Voter against [particularly the young]President Trump after he announced that he was running for President.
If the Average voter would educate themselves, the media's ploy could not succeed. But the average voter does not give a damn. Don't believe it? How many voters protested when the Republican Party collaborated with the Democrat Party to steal the 2020 election and replace President Trump, an Honest man [in more ways than one] with Lying Joe Biden, the biggest liar and thief known to mankind? The Great Patriot, otherwise known as Mike Pence also aided and abetted in the theft. The sheep, A/K/A, the average voter accepted Biden's rule meekly. Not one baa or discouraging word was offered in protest.
Under President Trump, the People prospered. Under Lying Joe Biden the people will be starving before it is over. In Fact, it hasn't even begun. Before it is over, there will be weeping, wailing, and gnashing of teeth.
