“2 Down, 8 To Go!”: How Donald Trump Is Purging GOP Of Those Who Voted To Impeach

Writing for NBC in October, Ashley Pratte Oates, communications strategist and board member, Republican Women for Progress, accused Trump of “hijacking” the GOP with his continued influence.

“While it’s disheartening to see these elected officials lambasted and pushed out of a party they’ve desperately—and bravely—tried to fix, it also should serve as a final wake-up call for leadership: The GOP is no longer the GOP of the Bushes, Ronald Reagan, Mitt Romney and John McCain. It is now the party of Trump,” Pratte Oates said.

Ashley Pratte Oates!

Another three name Establishment name, like Christie Todd Whitman, Kathy McMorris Rodgers, Shelley Moore Capito an Katie Boyd Britt.

They're all the same.

And they like to lump Ronald Reagan in their list of heroes but history shows that these SAME types (and sometimes SAME PEOPLE - Mitch McConnell was for Ford over Reagan in '76) tried to stop Reagan (and Goldwater before him - George Romney of MI and Bill Scranton of PA) in both 1976 and 1980.

It's the same old tune.

Their days are over.

Oh, and I'm certain Ashley Pratte Oates, like her sainted Bushes, voted for Hillary in 2016. And any "republican" that could stomach that isn't a republican, and likely never was.

This is why MTG needs to ditch the T. Just Majorie Greene or Mrs. Greene will do.

I know one thing. I’m damned tired of seeing Congressmen and Senators go in with modest means and STAY there and come out multi-millionaires, and THAT isn’t just one party or the other.

I’d much rather see a multi-millionaire go in, even if it costs him money and/or other benefits (like Trump) than what we have. AFAIC, if you voted for Trump’s impeachment you’re targeted for removal from office, period. Tired of GOP seniors in Congress glad handing with Democrats, slapping their backs and calling them their friends. They are nothing of the sort. They are enemies; treat them as such.

They do not care. The very reason they go in is to grab as much as they can.

Once in a while there is one or two who get in and do the right thing. But even they get sucked into the cesspool of corruption the longer they stay.
Some go in and stay just long enough to get their perks and retirements, the rest to rob as much as they can.

Its got to big. If red states would split away it would be smaller and might be controllable.

Secession.

Agree. These are the exact same type of people who hated Reagan. They attack Trump and conservatism to the benefit of the Marxist agenda of the Democrat party. That’s really all you need to know about them.

MTG is the exception to the rule. Think of it as her stuffing it in their faces.

This article is gaslighting. Liz Cheney had 145 votes for GOP House leadership after voting to impeach a GOP POTUS based on a Democrat hoax. The GOP is hardly “Trump’s party.” Never was. Never will be.

It’s also the party of Calvin Coolidge and Abraham Lincoln.

I essentially agree on the motive and resulting actions part. On the Secession, I used to think that would work but we are no longer Red State vs Blue State. We are Red countryside vs Blue Urbanside, and that is mighty difficult to secede from or separate out by boundary lines.

True, though it was never Reagan’s; they hated him. The Left and the GOPe still think this is about Trump. It’s about their base.
