AMSTERDAM (AP) – The Netherlands moved into a tougher lockdown Sunday that was announced amid spiking infections even before the country recorded its first confirmed cases of the new, more highly transmissible omicron virus variant.
Bars, restaurants, nonessential stores, cinemas and theatres were among the public places forced to shut from 5 p.m. until 5 a.m. under the new lockdown.

Oh my, each variant gets more and more contagious. But if we kill our economy we will all be much better off and nobody will get sick.

Stay open and demand an exact definition of ‘essential’ while demanding it should include ‘primary income source’.
I’m tired of governments telling the little people they’re not ‘essential’...only big corps are - which is anti-science, force everyone to go to the same places.
Sigh...

What we have been doing is not working, so you just need more of it.
Just like communism and socialism.

At the end, there will be one store still open.
It will be packed to the gills with the most virulent and contagious mutant, just waiting to burst out.
Anyone walking within 1000 meters (notice my metric reference) will be instantly collapsed from it.
That is why we need to kill the economy.
