I remember when we used to hire and promote based on ability, not demographics.

To be fair, both Russia and particularly China have similar issues. Neither society has a tradition of meritocracy. Political reliability or family connections increases your ability to advance in both societies. China is opaque there is strong anecdotal evidence that business decisions have been made to curry favor with party officials, demostrate fealty, or to establish and maintain relationships. Witness the empty newly built cities, collapsed bridges, shady financials, and other evidence of corruption documented over the past few years.

Next they will require race ratios on NBA and NFL teams.

Agreed. They haven’t always made the best decisions. The gotcha is now, we’re making the same “sub optimal” decisions and can therefore no-longer count on an advantage.

Judicial Watch brought the lawsuit that claims it’s illegal to use taxpayer funds to enforce a law that violates the equal protection clause of the California Constitution by mandating a gender-based quota.
Sounds like cisgendered bigotry to require women and no other genders!

TBH I don’t think our enemies are always appointing their best and brightest.

For example in China I believe it’s all about nepotism and party loyalty.

In Mexico it’s probably payola.

In Canada it’s probably are you woke enough.

So while I think this is totally unConstitutional and anticipate it will be overturned, I don’t think other countries are necessarily doing better. We are all kind of screwed up. Is there a country that is doing better than us?

I mean they were never successful in mandating racial quotas, were they? So I can’t see how they could be successful in mandating sexual ones.
