In pushing white guilt, the Salvation Army is starting to resemble the NEA with CRT. Soon, its supporters will be forced to choose between their favorite charity and their country.
The Army and I go way back – to before I was born.
My mother grew up in a poor, immigrant neighborhood in Troy, New York. Every year during Christmas, the Salvation Army would come around with warm mittens, knit caps and oranges for the children. My father, who served in the Second World War, knew he could always get a cup of coffee and a donut at one of their canteens.
When I worked in Boston, I rang a bell at the Downtown Crossing. Since it was founded in 1865, the Army has done a world of good the world over. That it has been infected with the pandemic of our age (“racial equity” – more properly racial Marxism) is depressing.
In the past I’ve always supported the Army. During the holidays, I considered it a sin to pass a Red Kettle without throwing in a few bucks. If things have changed, it’s not my fault.
Internal forces have taken the Christian desire to repent and perverted it into an embrace of racism in the name of fighting racism, -- seen in Critical Race Theory – which has become the greatest threat to our unity and survival as a nation.
Throughout its history, the Salvation Army has served people of all races in America -- even during the era of segregation. Today, 60% of those it helps are minorities.
Still, the organization is driven to both apologize for its imaginary sins and demand that all Caucasians do the same.

Like Reagan said of the Democrat Party, the Salvation Army left its donor base, they didn’t leave it.
They could easily fix this with a mea culpa news conference and advertising. But they blew it, big time. That’s a shame, because they do good work, but calling most of your donors racists ... might be bad marketing.
It’s likely the big corporate donors driving this shameful policy.

Besides that one story a couple weeks ago about a bellringer asking someone to apologize for his white-ness, what’s wrong with the Salvation Army?
Isn’t the daughter of Cowboys owner Jerry Jones the head of this Red Kettle thing?? Should be interesting to watch the developments.

Dear Salvation Army: Never piss off people who give you free money.
Depends on who supports Salvation Army. If it’s a foreign entity like in the case of pro sports, SA will be as obtuse as pro sports. I already don’t give to anyone who’s support of abortion I question
It’ll break my heart to pass up the red kettles in December but I’ll find another way to help the truest in need. I won’t question the bell ringer because it’s not their fault, I’ll just shake my head no, and move on.
Like most folks, I’d always toss something in a red kettle when I was out and about. Now, those few bucks are going to a local animal shelter.
Another organization going WOKE.... oh well... I won’t donate this year...
An internal "training document" was exposed which revealed the Salvation Army has gone full woketard. The Salvation Army, of course, deleted the document, then denied the allegations, but you can read it for yourself, because others preserved a copy of the doc. It is full-on woke race-denigrating garbage (ex. it is bad to be color-blind).

The local Corps Officer went boo-hooing to the press that donations were down and that they might need to find “another means of funding” this year’s toy distribution.
Very dishonest: This year’s toys were already donated and/or purchased from LAST YEAR’S donations!
Some woke college major employee at Salvation Army wrote some woke nonsense and it was put out to the public.
Same thing that essentially occurred within other “woke” organizations like Coca-Cola.
The number of college graduates who majored in grievance culture who now work for every company and government in America makes this crap inevitable. CEO’s have surrendered to them within their own structures so they can spout their nonsense with impunity.
That is my .02
We will never know if the CEO and board agreed with it or not, but now they have to live with the consequences of hiring him/her. It is a shame because they generally do good work in communities.
It is essentially the same “struggle” that is occurring between the NEA and school boards and parents. Most of our colleges appear to have become toxic cesspools graduating activists who hate our country or hate their own race because of all the twisted ideology they drank for four years.
I used to try to always put in at least some coins or a dollar or two, when passing bell ringers/red kettles.
I really would like to put in a note that says I will not donate any longer. A FReeper had a sample one the other day, which showed it was a token for one dose of “white guilt” or something.
Since they seem to WANT “white guilt”, it should help them to meet their goals, I would think.
