A shooting on a beach in Mexico might have tourists rethinking their vacation plans.
Multiple attackers rolled up to Playa Langosta in Cancun's hotel zone on jet skis and began opening fire on Tuesday, according to The Associated Press.
Nobody was injured, but tourists were rattled by the incident.
Zayne Jones of Utah said his wife and kids were at the hotel's pool on the beach at the time.
“I ran to the balcony to tell them to get down and get to a corridor and get cover," Jones told KUTV-TV in Salt Lake City.
"Luckily nobody got hurt, but it could have gone a different way," Jones added. "Just not a good feeling having your kids out here."
Kerry Arms, who was visiting from Minnesota, told the AP, "There was a delayed reaction for about maybe five seconds, then everybody started scrambling and screaming and crying, and running."

I love Ft. Walton. Know lots of ppl down there.
Looks like the hotel owner missed a “security” payment to the local gangs.
Did anyone say, Bond..James Bond.
Mexico is the way it is because of corruption, NOT because the US or any other nation screwed them over.
Got relatives there.
Ah, what a vacation paradise.
Hey now. We’re pretty well known for screwing everybody over sooner or later. Just ask the haters.
ding ding ding
There it is...
Or — he just found out that he has to pony up to a DIFFERENT set of folks with guns...
We could blame Biden. The amount of money the cartels are making ferrying illegals to the US border lets them buy more guns and gives them something to fight over among themselves.
I have never understood why so many Americans have this huge flirtation with tourist spots in crime ridden Mexico. I would never go there and were I a parent with kids who wanted to go there it would be a definite NO.
Since no one injured or targeted, I wonder if it wasn’t a warning to the hotel. Pay your protection money or else!
Not just any Mexican vacation spot, probably the most popular. Not good for the tourist bureau.
That’s the exact opening scene of “American Assassin”
I have long thought that the cartels had taken over the tourism industry in Mexico or they would. It’s a guaranteed money maker that appears legit. As an added bonus, the restaurant and hospitality industry is the best industry to launder drug money.
The cartels have so much cash that they will purchase more and more businesses in Mexico. It is inevitable. In my opinion it is pretty much a narco-state now and their hold on the nation grows stronger every year.
That was a pretty good movie. Definitely a bit of a Jason Bourne knock-off but still good.
I have been watching Mexico for a long time. I used to work in the Rio Grande valley a lot.
The cartels used to run the northern states. Now they run the country. I do not understand why anyone would to go into that country.
Good point. That hotel owner probably needed some incentive to sell his property or get out. The narco gangs are doing what the Mafia did in Las Vegas. Good way to launder money, go “legitimate” and leave a legacy for their families.
The whole situation looks like the opening to a movie I saw about a guy and his girl on vacation in Italy or something like that and guys on jet skis just pulled up started shooting. He lived, she didn’t, so he turned himself into a trained killer and went about the bad guys.
Decent flick, really. Good summer popcorn type of movie.
