Lawyers for a Michigan high school student injured in a deadly mass shooting are accusing the district of destroying evidence pertinent to the case.
Four people were killed last month and seven injured after Ethan Crumbley, a 15-year-old sophomore, allegedly opened fire at Oxford High School.
The Oxford School District is currently facing a $100 million lawsuit from a student who was shot in the neck, and her sister, who witnessed the attack. Lawyers say the district has scrubbed the school website of administrators.
“Not only did defendants fail to take necessary steps to preserve the evidence, but they willfully destructed the evidence by deleting the webpages and social media accounts,” attorney Nora Hanna wrote in Friday’s filing. “Plaintiffs cannot continue to be blindsided by the defendants by having to search for what evidence is being destroyed or altered.”
The lawsuit alleges the school failed to protect students from a peer who was “deranged” and “homicidal.” US District Judge Terrence Berg has ordered the school to keep all evidence related to the case.
Timothy J. Mullins, an attorney for the Oxford school district, disputed the accusation.
“It’s a lie … it’s disgusting,” he told the paper. “People think that the school district is withholding information? Everything that we have has been given to the prosecutor … everything they want we’ve given to them.”

I am so sick of people destroying evidence, which is illegal.
There should be mandatory harsh penalties for people who tamper with evidence, either to destroy it, or frame someone.
They may have just wiped it, like with a cloth or something . . .

I would read that to mean that the school district destroyed any other potentially damaging information that was not yet requested.
Taking the destruction of evidence claim with a grain of salt
Schools are d***** if they do and d***** if they don’t when it comes to disciplining kids.
I admittedly didn’t read the entire article as it’s the gazillionth or so claiming the same nonsense.
The only evidence “destroyed” was a list of school administrators that was taken off the district website because there were death threats being made against the people. I would have pulled it under those circumstances also.
The lawyer in this case (Geoffrey Feiger) is a clown. He’s a far left Democrat who ran for Governor of Michigan and got soundly wholloped. He usually gets himself involved in these high profile cases and goes after huge award amounts (in this case, “only” $200 million dollars). Unfortunately, any money awarded in this case will likely wind up ultimately being paid by the taxpayers of Oxford, MI - and since Oxford is a pretty small little town, it will probably totally bankrupt many people and totally destroy the town. Aside from that, good job so far, Geoff!
If anyone wants further evidence of how whacky this guy is, consider that he has already demanded Facebook, IG and other social media sites preserve every post with #OxfordStrong and similar hashtags - of which there are probably millions and millions and millions of so far by people all across the country if not the world. What good would that even do? NOTHING.

"Destructed" is neither a verb nor an adjective.
The past participle of the verb "to destroy" is "destroyed."
The only allowable form would be "self-destructed."

Even worse, they DESTRUCTED it! Just embarrassing in a filed pleading.
Geoffrey Fieger Is a media whore and loud mouth.
However he does win his cases and his clients and Law Firm reap the rewards.
His brother died a few years ago and it seemed like Fieger was taking some time off for awhile.
His brother was lead singer for the group “The Knack”.
Because giving them life and a chance to make things better is preferable than I'd they never got the chance for life at all.
Or should we all just off ourselves rather than continue living in this pit of ultimate despair?

We need to do what we can to make their lives better.
What’s likely being hidden is evidence that the school ignored the bullying the shooter had to deal with before he went off the rails.
