Most, myself included, would deride the .25 as a doorstop (and yes, I do own one). That being said, even the most macho of bad guys is averse to gunshot wounds. If you carry, carry what you are comfortable with.
A 25 caliber handgun is a little light for a doorstop. Better as a paper weight.
