PARKLAND, Wash. — Dramatic new surveillance video shows a store employee making a risky move to stop a shoplifter in Pierce County.
The store owner said they are fed up with thieves targeting their stores again and again, and the worker was striking back.
It was the last straw for 27-year-old Gabby.
The ‘Iconic Workwear’ store employee was seen on surveillance video, jumping into action, and closing the door on a would-be shop lifter. She blocks him from taking off after another guy got away.
“She was shaking," said Pedro Gonzalez, Iconic Workwear owner. "She was angry. She was frustrated. She was scared. But she said something needed to be done."
Gabby finally forced the guy to drop the stuff and he’s seen leaving empty handed.
Gonzalez said the interception speaks to the mounting frustration many business owners are facing with crime.
“It’s concerning because we might have to start shutting down because we’re losing money, not only from the items they take but they damage they do when they break in at night,” Gonzalez said.

Thirty or so years ago, my wife used to work alone in a small retail shop in a suburban strip mall. One day she had a couple of obvious shoplifters from “Boston” casing the place, but she followed them around very closely and deliberately obnoxiously, and they left. Other stores on the same area were not so lucky. Cops attributed it to a shoplifting gang from Boston. I told my wife to leave them alone, but she’s like the woman in the video, stubborn beyond reason.
The woman in that video was very lucky, imho.
Has the store clerk been fired yet for taking action that could have endangered the woke/BLM reputation of the store?
I have noticed something. Every time there’s a news report showing a black person doing something bad, the reporter is always, always black, too. It’s as if the station is saying, “Don’t call us racist for reporting on this criminal! Look! We hire blacks as reporters! Even our black reporter thinks this is bad!”
Until the ghettoprivileged are gunned down, this will not stop.
Watch the damn video. No pigment issues were involved, just pre-biased opinion.
Things are not over yet. The thief may file discrimination charges against the store because he was stopped based on skin color, age or being just plain stupid.

Smash-and-grabs are becoming a routine thing in major liberal cities, such as San Francisco and LA, where criminals know they won’t be prosecuted and the police won’t intervene while the crime is being committed.
These acts of robbery are becoming costly to businesses, including big chain stores.
Last week, the Retail Industry Leaders Association sent a letter to Congress that was signed by the CEOs of major businesses like Target, Best Buy, CVS, and Foot Locker, demanding action to stop these smash-and-grab robberies plaguing major cities.

Police aren’t allowed to do their jobs because of woke policies, but now these woke companies want Congress to create new laws to solve this problem they helped create.

Those two shoplifters actually seemed very light-skinned, especially the first one. Neither one might even be part black, or Hispanic.
I’ve been low-income for many years, and so I know a great many low-income white people, and have heard about or directly from those who steal from stores, or “boost” as it’s called. On the other hand, many low-income white people who wouldn’t steal, but that also goes for many low-income black people as well.
Getting money for drugs is about the number one reason probably across races. And perhaps that’s at least one reason why California started to basically allow shoplifting. The illegal drug prices might be quite “inflated” out there.
I saw that. New laws that make any sort of anonymous shopping impossible/illegal. By the commoners, at least.
When these shoplifting scum eminently threaten the lives of employees who try to stop them, the shoplifters should be repeatedly shot until it is abundantly clear that the eminent threat of death or serious bodily injury to the employee no longer exists.

The sad reality is that this behavior spreads. The more career criminals that remain unpunished, the more the behavior spreads to young people in the mushy middle, to people not generally criminally inclined, but experimenting at the edges of their normal boundaries. And the adrenaline high from getting away with it makes it both addictive and contagious.
You hear these lame excuses about business having insurance or that “they’re rich, they can afford it”. This is the toxic consequences of the gospel of envy and class warfare as preached by Marxist influencers in the schools and media.
