So they set up the environment that bred the crime spree in the first place, then cede privacy rights to the police to “combat” it.

Like all good Marxists, they create a disaster. When the disaster is out of control, they pretend they want to “fix” the situation so they can appear as a “leader.”
No!! Not more police, fewer police! More social workers. Also, don’t only let felons out of jail, also give them crowbars, knives, and guns. This generosity will induce them to become kind and to forego the criminal lifestyle.

They will now arrest suspects twice as often (allowing the DA to release them twice as fast).
The Mayor should show some honor and courage, admit the administration has been a complete failure, take full responsibility for that failure—and resign immediately.
