I sure hope he is done. But I am afraid Biden’s speech today will just be more malicious than ever.

Manchin knows that there's no way forward with these people.

Co-existence does not seem possible.

It ain’t over as long as that quisling McConnell still controls the GOP.

Biden is doing an enormous amount of damage to the American republic and the middle and working classes every day - cheapening the currency, letting in waves of millions of illegals, ruining US energy independence, passing money to leftist fringe groups, passing gas to those around him. He is a first class, low class man of the worst type and he’s increasingly senile. The man would be a total joke if he sadly didn’t have so much power.

He also solidified the death knell for his president's last chance to get anything done before Republicans take over the House and the Senate in eleven months.

The Democrats can proceed with gutting the long-standing filibuster rules. That will come in handy.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has adamantly defended the Senate filibuster in the past despite altering his stance since President Biden took office, once describing it as “part of the hallowed process around here of the Founding Fathers saying the Senate is the cooling saucer.”

Arrogant and incompetent this is what the rat base and the rats have given us, the allowed BLM and antifa to destroy cities while pushing forward and jailing Jan 6 protesters as political insurrectionists after they stole the presidency in a coup. The GOP is responsible was well

Schumer has his back up against the wall. If the RATs fail to sieze total power they run the risk of payback for stealing the election. This is why they have tried 6 times , so far , to Nationalize the election rules.

Why does Manchin stay with the Democrats?

Schumer is afraid of a primary challenge from the left. End of story. Schumer believes in nothing, and cares about nothing other than being reelected.

Why is there this urge to have Senator Manchin become a Republican all of the sudden? He has proven himself to be a relatively sane voice on the Democrat side, but he is not a conservative by any means. I think he can serve the country best by remaining true to his core values while advocating for reasonable limitations on spending and big government. He is, and can be in the future, a voice of reason in the Democrat party. You shouldn’t try to make a dog into a cat just because he doesn’t want to chew up every kitten he sees. Let the man be. IF he decides that he has more in common with his Republican colleagues than his Democrat ones, he will make that change naturally. But, it should be his decision based on his core values. Otherwise, it is just another fake-out. And, we have enough RINOs already that we have to deal with.

e was gifted the majority leader position thanks to a chaotic Georgia run-off election

No. He was gifted this position because of a bunch of traitorous RINOs so desperate to drop the anvil on Trump that it landed on them.

I agree with your entire post. Republicans and Democrats both have a sound basis for their existence.

“Why does Manchin stay with the Democrats?”

The politician you see in office is like the leaf on a tree. It’s attached, rooted there. You’re looking at a constituent base, funding, and a long, long network of associations. And, as Nacy Pelosi so elegantly stated about AOC, “She lives in a district like mine where a glass of water with a D on it can get elected.” (As a supporter I’d be deeply hurt.)

Now, if the Republicans offered Manchin a new tree, he might move, but probably not. Also, he is probably positioning himself as the one Democrat who could be president in ‘24.
