Rep. Barbara Lee (D-Oakland) has tested positive for COVID-19, she said Tuesday in a statement. Lee, who is fully vaccinated and had also gotten a booster shot, said she received her positive test result this week.
“Fortunately, I have only mild cold-like symptoms, but I know it could have been much worse had I not been vaccinated and boosted,” she said. “I am isolating and will follow all of the required health protocols to keep my loved ones, my staff, and my community safe.”
Lee is at least the fifth member of Congress this week to announce having tested positive for COVID-19. . On Sunday, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) and Rep. Jason Crow (D-Colo.) disclosed their breakthrough cases, a term to describe people who test positive for the coronavirus despite being fully vaccinated. Each lawmaker said they had gotten a booster shot and that their symptoms were mild.

Rep. Nicole Malliotakis (R-N.Y.) has also tested positive, according to local media reports.
Earlier Tuesday, President Biden warned that the Omicron variant of the coronavirus could cause breakthrough infections “potentially in large numbers.” The Omicron variant has surpassed the Delta variant as the leading cause of infection. Federal officials reported Monday that nearly three-quarters of new cases last week were caused by Omicron.
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said in a statement Monday that a “mid-level staff member” who had spent about 30 minutes near the president on Air Force One on Friday had tested positive for COVID-19. The staffer was fully vaccinated and boosted, Psaki said, and didn’t experience any symptoms until Sunday.
I hope she meets her infernal reward.
Be a shame if they pumped her full of Remdesivir and slapped her on a ventilator.

So the same wording as that loathsome Karen — Elizabeth Warren: I’m sick with Covid but since I’m fully vaxed it means I’m on easy street with not so bad symptoms.
Used to be: Get the jab or you might catch Covid. If those foolish and irresponsible Deplorables don’t get jabbed they might catch Covid but all of us are vaxed we’re immune.
A few news stories a day knocked that idea down.
So jab works except when it doesn’t work and you’re safe unless you aren’t safe.
Watch each “positive” DEM end up with family and friends over the holidays. Then again, they’re just as quickly to “produce” two negative text results, stating that the vaccine made them “recover” quickly.
It’s spreading like crazy in New England. Only a matter of time before the rest of the country feels the impact. We have a friend who lives in NYC but her elderly parents live in CA. She came home last week. She’s tested negative, but she just told us that 12 of her friends and co-workers in NYC have tested positive this week.
Here is a short list of people infected this week: Maryland Governor Hogan; CNBC host Jim Cramer, Two US Senators, President Biden’s assistant, and at least one Congressperson. These elites are being hit with it, in part because of their hypocrisy - they run around town thinking they are safe because they got triple jabbed when we all know the jab doesn’t stop the spread of the virus. I don’t wish any of them harm and hope Omicron turns out to be very mild and signals the end of this Pandemic.

According to most credible reports, the risk is significantly lessened with Omicron.
Anecdotally, my son and his girlfriend both got it a week ago....Moderate scratchy throat, mild fatigue, headache. All symptoms have resolved as of this time.

But you touched a nerve of mine. They have no idea if the jabs help or not. The virus has maybe, maybe, a 2% mortality rate and that is mostly among people with co-morbid conditions.
For otherwise healthy people, the virus is nothing or next to nothing. Yeah it sucks to feel unwell but it passes. But for tens of millions of people, they didn’t even know they had the virus!
The vaccine trials had maybe 30,000 people in them. They screwed up the trials too by getting rid of the placebo arms way too soon. With such a low mortality rate the trials were not at all powered to prove they help increase survivability. It’s just a plain fact. Indeed more people died from the placebo arm, after they received the jab, than did people from the drug arm of the trial. It’s silly but the vaccine clinical trials proved absolutely nothing.
I believe the vaccines help people with covid (at what cost? Nobody knows), but the data simply does not support that belief. It is impossible to prove now that so many people got jabbed. How many of them would have survived anyway?
