I have no first hand knowledge but thought it was reported they didn’t rent - they were invited to stay there by rich supporter/owners.
He has a network established to deliver the things he likes in Delaware and places to partake. He would have to rely on someone else in Hawaii. Different network, more potential for problems.
He typically spends each New Year in the Virgin Islands grifting at some mansion. Sue is a tough life serving the public. And the Thanksgivings in Nantucket are hard to take as well.
