Two top-ranking officers on a U.S. Navy vessel were relieved of duty on Thursday due to a "loss of confidence in their ability to command," the Navy announced.
Cmdr. Richard J. Zamberlan and Cmdr. Phillip Lundberg of the USS Montgomery both lost their posts in an unusual move by Navy leadership to remove both the commanding officer and executive officer. ...

All that boat, and those little bitty guns?
They both look like they’ve been spending a bit too much time in each other’s spud locker.
Wow. I had three different Captains on the sub I was on. I’d have drug my gonads through broken glass for the first two. The last one, not so much. Yet they all practiced the first rule of submarines.
Make the times you surface equal to the times you submerge or greater.
The 70’s. “How Times have changed.”
That was my impression too.
I’ve never seen an officer that didn’t dream to be an admiral. Putting split tails on ships is counter to nature. The officers may have screwed the pooch or got the shaft for political expediency. My three CO’s were all Jacks a great 5 stud hand in poker but the last one was a little weak. These guys probably have hit the ceiling of their careers. .
I could be wrong, but have there been a lot of LCS and Zumwalt commanders relieved of duty compared to other ships? Maybe these newfangled ships with their newfangled staffing models don’t work with the navy’s administration and officer development. Or maybe I’m imagining all of that and a commander of a new model ship isn’t at greater risk of being relieved of command.
The one on the right looks especially suspicious.
Wait. Fake news. White men allowed to command naval vessels? Comeon man!
Stalin move.
Exemplary officers removed and reassigned.
Leftists lie.
Our military is another leftist cabal.
Resisting the “woke” movement?
I thank you for introducing me to a wonderful new slang expression!
I promise to use it sparingly - no more than five or six times per day, now - and to always give proper attribution when doing so (e.g.: "Credit to Equine1952").
I may even try occasionally working it into conversation here on the FR message board, too!
Regards,
New?
Sorry, I should have clarified! I meant: New to me.
Regards,
They relieved the capt. of my ship do to extreme low moral and high AWOL’s
Lol.
1) Suggest to buy bier for local Hell’s Angel.
Elicit opinion on said split tails. Prepare to purchase many much bier.
2) Read autobiography of Marcinko, Richard. Enjoy.
Regards to you as well!
Who knows what this was about. The Navy’s been screwing up sexual harassment charges for years, even before women were on ships.
When they started to decommission the enterprise, someone found a note from behind the Nuke EM berthing lockers from the 80s about some dandy giving night BJ’s while guys were asleep. Another guy complained about it and he got masted instead of the perv. Left the note for posterity. Whether it’s true or not, I don’t know. My 2nd deployment had mess deck prostitutes, the “white watches” (female Marines). They were cranking fwd and aft in the mess decks with the mess MA as their jon. Place your cup upside down in a certain spot on your tray. White watch came by later put a time, date, and fan room locale. They got caught because they transfered $36k out of their ship account to their credit card. We also had a BJ ring. Girl decided she didn’t want to give BJ’s any more, her chief told her she had to. Allegedly She reported it to the Captain. She got kicked out and he was moved to a different ship.
Good times in the Navy.
For all I know, in the regime’s new navy, these guys might have been overheard saying the Pledge of Allegiance with a little too much verve.
USS Montgomery (LCS-8) is an Independence-class littoral combat ship of the United States Navy. She is the fourth ship to be named for Montgomery, the capital of Alabama. Wikipedia
