Archie Bunker said “terlet”.

Queens and Brooklyn have similar accents, though Brooklyn's tends to be more pronounced. With the oi/er business, I think the early Dutch settlers may have had something to do with it.

Also some northeasterners pronounce words ending in “a” as “er” instead. Such as “Gitmo is in Cuber.” Prolly more prominant in New England.
