Sometimes there is such a thing as too great expectations for an ordinary human elevated to a position of great power.
Certainly DJT was far better that the GOP alternatives, and he kept his word ...

Trump didn’t live up to expectations either.To an extent, I can see your point, although I believe he would have had far more room to do what was necessary in a second term, when he couldn't seek re-election and it didn't matter what he did. His first term was marred by RINO Republicans telling him he wouldn't get what he wanted if he didn't do what they said.

No politician ever will. The best we can hope for is someone who won't disappoint too much and will get some things done that we want. Trump did that for me, and I believe DeSantis would as well.
